Filter Maintenance (E & DL Series)

To maximize your central vacuum performance and ensure constant maximum suction power, Cyclo Vac encourages regular maintenance of the filtration system.

Cyclo Vac's filtration system includes two filters. These filters are machine washable (cold water, no bleach) and can be dried in the dryer at low temperature. The first filter is made a a thin fabric (anti-clogging filter) and stops the bigger dust particles. The other filter is made of a thicker fabric (Cyclofiltre) and captures the remaining tiny dust particles.

  1. Unclip and remove the dust collector.

  2. Withdraw the filters by pulling on the strap of fabric located at their base. Cyclo Vac recommends that you shake or wash the anti-clogging filter (thin fabric) at every unload of the dust collector. At least once a year, or after four dust collector emptying, the Cyclofiltre (thicker material) should be cleaned.

  3. Filters should be totally dry before they are reinstalled. The thin fabric filter (anti-clogging filter) has to be repositioned first and then, the thicker fabric filter can be places over it. Make sure the filter is reinstalled into the slot of the filter frame.

Always inspect the filters before you reinstall. Damaged filters (teared or puntured) should never be put back into the central vacuum.

Electrostatic Bag Maintenance (GS & GX Series)

Cyclo Vac recommends you replace the vacuum's filter-bag once it's full. Depending on the use of the central vacuum, frequency will vary. The GX series models have an integrated monitor that will signal when comes time to replace the bag.

  1. First, remove the vacuum cleaner dust canister.*

  2. Withdraw, seal and throw away the old bag.

  3. As you put the new bag in, make sure the bag's grooves are aligned with the indentation on the adaptor.

  4. Insert the bag completely (until it reaches the retention ring). Then, to insure the filter-bag stays in place, rotate it 20º.

  5. Put the vacuum cleaner dust canister back in place.

*To change the bag on the Axess and GS111 models, remove the power unit's top cover rather then removing the dust canister.

Also, be sure to change the disc-shaped filter (between motor and filter-bag) after three filter-bag changes.

Use exclusively Cyclo Vac filter-bags. Failure to do so could void the warranty on your central vacuum.

Ultra-Fresh* Permanent Filter Maintenance

Don't worry about maintenance! The Ultra-Fresh filter will be inspected by a professional when comes time to have the central vacuum examined at a Cyclo Vac service center (after10 years or 500 hours of use).

*Ultra-Fresh is a trademark of Thomson Research Associates

Carbon Dust Filter Maintenance (Except models Axess, 111 and 211)

The carbon dust filter should be replaced after you've changed the filter bag three (3) times. If you have one of our GX Series central vacuum model with integrated intelligent monitor, the system will signal when comes time to replace the filter.

  1. Unlock the casing of the carbon dust filter and soflty open it.

  2. Dislodge and dispose of the old filter.

  3. Put in the new filter. Make sure the arrows printed on the side of the filter are directed outward.

  4. Close and clench the carbon filter frame.
